Hermès launches Chinese e-commerce website
On the 17th October Hermès launched its Chinese e-commerce website, following in the footsteps of the luxury brands Louis Vuitton and Gucci to name a few.
With a rising interest among Chinese customers in purchasing belts and its signature handbags such as the Birkin Kelly model having successfully launched a WeChat pop-store last year it was a well thought out strategic move.
The website mimics the design of their European sites and boasts a limited range of Hermès items for women and men, from Jewelry and Watches to bags and silk accessories.
In 2017 The Asian market contributed to 35% of overall sales of the luxury French brand and this is likely to grow with the addition of their e-commerce in 2018.
